November Goddess of the Month: Pasithea

Pasithea is a lesser-known Greek goddess. She is one of the younger Charities (Graces) and the wife of Hypnos, the god of sleep. Her name literally translates to relaxation and she represents just that. She is the matron of relaxation, meditation, and restorative activities.

To honor this goddess is simple. Relax. Take some downtime just for yourself. Engage in an activity that you find calming and restorative. She's all about rest and self-care.

If you have time with us how you plan to honor Pasithea.

  1. I had never heard of this goddess. I'd like to learn about all the Graces. How many are there? It seems like a great time of the year to emphasize rest and self-care, both as the cold and darkness of winter increase and the busy-ness of the holiday season starts ramping up all around us.

With a recent PTSD episode brought on by a medical procedure, plus dealing with a number of work stresses & a car maintenance emergency, getting back to routines that ground and support me seem key.

I'll try to repot my progress weekly through November. As always, thank you for your creativity, research, and nurturing gifts, Eva!
